Voyager Mission Operations Status
Report # 2009-02-13, Week Ending February 13, 2009
Command Transmission &
Verification Operations
Voyager 1 command operations consisted of the uplink of a Command Loss Timer Reset on 2/09 [DOY 040/1530z]. The command was not transmitted due to hydraulics problems at DSS-14 [DR G109242]. The command was rescheduled later in the day over DSS-63 on 02/10 [DOY 041/0245z]. The spacecraft received
the command.
There were no command operations in
support of Voyager 2 during the period due to the extended downtime of DSS-43.
Sequence Generation Operations
No
sequence development activities during this report period.
Data Return Operations
Voyager
1 Data Processing and Operations:
There were 69.2 hours of DSN scheduled
support for Voyager 1 of which 25.8 hours were large aperture coverage. There
was one real-time support change on 02/09 [DOY 040] when DSS-15 supported 1.9
hours in place of 4.0 hours of DSS-14 coverage declared Red due to hydraulics
problems [DR G109242]. The total actual
support was 67.1 hours of which 21.8 hours were large aperture coverage
There were three significant outages during the period. The first two outages were caused by weather at DSS-15. The first outage of 2.9 hours occurred on 02/07 [DOY 038, DR G109234]. The second outage of 1.4 hours occurred two days later on 02/09 [DOY 040, DR G109243]. The third outage of 2.8 hours was caused by hydraulics problem at DSS-14 on 02/09 [DOY 040, DR G109242].
Science instrument performance was nominal for all activities during this period. One frame of GS-4 data was recorded this week. A second frame of GS-4 data was recorded on February 7. The EDR backlog is 2 days.
Voyager
2 Data Processing and Operations:
There were 44.4 hours of
DSN scheduled support for Voyager 2 of which 0 hours were large aperture
coverage. There were no real-time or
schedule support changes made or significant outages during the period
Science instrument performance was nominal for all
activities during this period. The EDR
backlog is 1 days.
Flight System Performance
Voyager
1 performance was nominal during this report period. Activity included switching back to X-Band
low power on 2/9 [DOY 040].
Voyager
2 performance was nominal during this report period. Activity included a PMPCAL on 2/10 [DOY
041/042].
