Voyager Mission Operations Status Report # 2011-12-09,  Week Ending December 9, 2011

Command Transmission & Verification Operations

Voyager 1 command operations consisted of the uplink of a Command Loss Timer Reset on 12/05 [DOY 339/2145z].  The spacecraft received the command.

Voyager 2 command operations consisted of the uplink of seven bracketed Command Loss Timer Resets sent on five-minute centers using 0.5 Hz steps on 12/07 [DOY 341/1257z].  The spacecraft received  two of the seven commands sent.

Sequence Generation Operations

Continue sequence development of CCSL A082A and start development of CCSL B154C.

Data Return Operations

Voyager 1 Data Processing and Operations:

There were 32.3 hours of DSN scheduled support for Voyager 1 of which 28.3 hours were large aperture coverage.  There were no real-time or schedule support changes made during the period.

There was one significant outage of 0.5 hours on 12/08 [DOY 342] due to an antenna Problem at DSS-43 [DR C108362].

Science instrument performance was nominal for all activities during this period.  One frame of GS-4 data was recorded this week.  A second frame of GS-4 data was recorded on December 9.  The EDR backlog is 2 days.

Voyager 2 Data Processing and Operations:

There were 33.8 hours of DSN scheduled support for Voyager 2 of which 15.8 hours were large aperture coverage.  There were no real-time or schedule support changes made or significant outages during the period.

Science instrument performance was nominal for all activities during this period.  The EDR backlog is 2 days.

Flight System Performance

Voyager 1 performance was nominal during this report period.  Activities included turning off the IRIS Replacement Heater, X-Band high power, full memory readout, and X-Band low power on 12/7 (DOY 341).

Voyager 2 performance was nominal during this report period. Activity included X-Band high power, one 360 degree negative roll turn, gyros OFF, and X-Band low power on 12/9 (DOY 343).
