Voyager Mission Operations Status Report # 2013-03-15,  Week Ending  March 15, 2013

 

Command Transmission & Verification Operations

 

Voyager 1 command operations consisted of the uplink of a Command Loss Timer Reset, ECR 112315,  TLM PURGE, and two SID MROs on 03/13 [DOY 072/0135z].  The spacecraft received all commands sent and all commands were verified.

 

There were no command operations in support of Voyager 2 during the period due to DSS-43 downtime.

 

Sequence Generation Operations

 

Continue sequence development of CCSL  A087.

 

Data Return Operations

 

Voyager 1 Data Processing and Operations:

 

There were 76.3 hours of DSN scheduled support for Voyager 1 of which 65.8 hours were large aperture coverage.  There were no real-time or schedule support changes made or significant outages during the period.

 

Science instrument performance was nominal for all activities during this period.  One frame of GS-4 data was recorded this week.  A second frame of GS-4 data was recorded on March 9.  The EDR backlog is 2 days.

 

Voyager 2 Data Processing and Operations:

 

There were 39.3 hours of DSN scheduled support for Voyager 2 of which 0 hours were large aperture coverage.  There were no real-time or schedule support changes made during the period.

 

There was one significant outage of 1.5 hours on 03/09 [DOY 068] due to high SNT levels, unknown cause DSS-45 [DR C109271]

 

Science instrument performance was nominal for all activities during this period.  The EDR backlog is 2 days.

 

Flight System Performance

 

Voyager 1 performance was nominal during this report period.  Activities included LECP Observations on 3/9 (DOY 068), 3/10 (DOY 069 & 070), 3/11 (DOY 071), 3/12 (DOY 071 & 072), and a MAGROL 0n 3/13 (DOY 072).  Switched to X-Band high power on 3/10 (DOY 069).

 

 

Voyager 2 performance was nominal during this report period.  Activities included the switch to X-Band high power and as ASCAL on 3/11 (DOY 070) and a MAGROL) followed by switching X-Band to low power on 3/14 (DOY 073).
