Voyager Mission Operations Status Report # 2013-05-17,  Week Ending  May 17, 2013

 

Command Transmission & Verification Operations

 

Voyager 1 command operations consisted of the uplink of a TLM PURGE and Command Loss Timer Reset on 05/17 [DOY 137/2120z].  The spacecraft received all commands sent and all commands were verified.

 

There were no command operations in support of Voyager 2 during the period due to DSS-43 downtime.

Data Return Operations

 

Voyager 1 Data Processing and Operations:

 

There were 110.8 hours of DSN scheduled support for Voyager 1 of which 39.8 hours were large aperture coverage. Two schedule changes were made both releasing station time on 05/15 (DOY 135). The first change replaced 8.3 hours of DSS-14 and 0.8 hours of DSS 25/26 with 3.4 hours of DSS-26/15 support.  The second change reduced the DSS-65/55 support by 1.8 hours. The total actual support for the period was 103.3 hours of which 31.5 hours were large aperture coverage. 

 

There was one significant outage of 2.3 hours on 05/14 [DOY 134] due to rain over the DSS-54/65 array  [DR M107303].

 

Science instrument performance was nominal for all activities during this period.  One frame of GS-4 data was recorded this week.  A second frame of GS-4 data was recorded on May 17.  The EDR backlog is 2 days.

 

Voyager 2 Data Processing and Operations:

 

There were 67.9 hours of DSN scheduled support for Voyager 2 of which 0 hours were large aperture coverage. There were no real-time or schedule support changes made during the period.

 

There was one significant outage of 0.8 hours on 05/15 [DOY 135] due to rain at DSS-45 [DR N108858].

 

Science instrument performance was nominal for all activities during this period.  The EDR backlog is 2 days.

Voyager 1 performance was nominal during this report period.

 

Voyager 2 performance was nominal during this report period.
