Voyager Mission Operations Status Report # 2013-10-25  Week Ending  October 25, 2013

 

Command Transmission & Verification Operations

 

Voyager 1 command operations consisted of the uplink of a Command Loss Timer Reset on 10/22 [DOY 295/1900z].  The spacecraft received the command.

 

Voyager 2 command operations consisted of the uplink of seven bracketed Command Loss Timer Resets sent on five-minute centers using 1.0 Hz steps on 10/25 [DOY 298/1342z].  The spacecraft received none of the seven commands sent.

 

 

Sequence Generation Operations

 

Continue sequence development of CCSL B162.

 

Data Return Operations

 

Voyager 1 Data Processing and Operations:

 

There were 63.8 hours of DSN scheduled support for Voyager 1 of which 49.3 hours were large aperture coverage. There were no real-time or schedule support changes made during the period.

 

There was one significant outage of 1.5 hours on 10/19 [DOY 292] due to rain at DSS-63 [DR M107557].

 

Science instrument performance was nominal for all activities during this period.  One frame of GS-4 data was recorded this week.  Twenty-six frames of data were recovered from a playback of GS-4 data on October 23.  A second frame of GS-4 data was recorded on October 20.  The third frame of GS-4 data was recorded on October 25.  The EDR backlog is 1 days.

 

 

Voyager 2 Data Processing and Operations:

 

There were 69.4 hours of DSN scheduled support for Voyager 2 of which 43.8 hours were large aperture coverage. There were no real-time or schedule support changes made during the period.

 

There was one significant outage of 1.1 hours on 10/22 [DOY 295] due to rain at DSS-45 [DR C109582].

 

Science instrument performance was nominal for all activities during this period.  The EDR backlog is 2 days.

 

 

Flight System Performance

 

Voyager 1 performance was nominal during this report period.  Activities included turning off Gyros A&C 0n 10/22 (DOY 295), X-Band high power followed by a DTR playback of PWS high rate data on 10/23 (DOY 296), and turning on Gyros B&C on 10/25 (DOY 298).

 

Voyager 2 performance was nominal during this report period.  Activity included turning on Gyros B&C 0n 10/23 (DOY 296).
