Voyager Mission Operations Status
Report # 2010-05-14, Week Ending May 14,
2010
Command Transmission &
Verification Operations
Voyager 1 command operations consisted of the uplink of a Command Loss Timer Reset, CCSL A075 and AHELIO SID MRO’S on 05/12 [DOY 132/0300z]. The spacecraft received all commands sent and the CCSL was verified.
Voyager 2 command operations consisted of the uplink of BAY 1 HTR OFF, X/B HIGH PWR and EH-12 4 FDS FULL MRO’S on 05/11 [DOY 131/0755z]. The spacecraft received all commands sent and the FDS MRO was verified.
Sequence Generation Operations
No
overlay sequence development activity during this report period.
Data Return Operations
Voyager
1 Data Processing and Operations:
There were 85.2 hours of DSN scheduled support for Voyager 1 of which 21.3 hours were large aperture coverage. There were no real-time or schedule support changes made or significant outages during the period.
Science instrument
performance was nominal for all activities during this period. One frame of GS-4 data was recorded this
week. A second frame of GS-4 data was
recorded on May 14. The EDR backlog is 2
day.
Voyager
2 Data Processing and Operations:
There were 67.9 hours of DSN scheduled support for Voyager 2 of which 37.8 hours were large aperture coverage. There were no real-time or schedule support changes made or significant outages during the period.
The down link telemetry format for the entire period remained in the engineering format EL-40 due to the ongoing spacecraft Flight Data System (FDS) anomaly with the Science telemetry format, CR-5T (ISA 35395). The engineering data format was commanded to the High Rate Engineering Mode, FD-12, on 05/12 [DOY 132/2033:32 – 2117:26].
Four passes of the spacecraft Full FDS memory was read-out during this period. Each memory read-out was compared against a memory mask. It was discovered that a single bit had changed from a 1 to a 0 in the Write Protected Memory of the FDS that contained the FDS software that processed the science format CR-5T. Anomaly analysis continued through the period.
No science data was received since day 112 due to the Flight Data System (FDS) anomaly on the spacecraft. The EDR backlog is 0 days.
Flight System Performance
Voyager
1 performance was nominal during this report period. Activity included switching to X-Band low
power and turning on the Bay 1 Heater on 5/13 [DOY 133].
Voyager
2 performance was nominal during this report period.
